Cleat Caps

Baseball and softball players know the grind- one game on dirt and grass, the next on artificial turf . Constantly switching surfaces and lugging around multiple pairs of cleats just to keep up.  Its inconvenient, its bulky, and can get expensive. That is why we created a smarter solution. With Cleat Caps, you can wear your metal cleats on both dirt and turf fields, no more changing shoes between games, no more extra gear to carry. Just one pair, ready for any surface, so you can focus on playing the game you love.

Creator

It all started with a 13 year old ballplayer named Paxton

It all started with a 13 year old ballplayer named Paxton. Juggling two pairs of cleats from field to field, trying to keep up with the game he loved. Dirt one day, turf the next. Tired of the hassle of 2 pairs of cleats, he began thinking there had to be a better way. Determination was more than just an idea, he invented a solution. Cleat caps was born, this small innovation with a big impact.

Our Mission

Our mission at Artificial Turf Shield is to be the go to source for capping metal cleats when metal cleats are not allowed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at devon@a-tshield.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We currently make caps for Nike, New Balance, Under Armour and Ringor.

Cleatcaps are specifically made for each shoe, and made to be tight on the metal studs to avoid coming off during play. The newer the shoe, the easier they go on, over time the metal studs wear down and sometimes form burrs, the wearing down and burrs make the caps harder to apply, but with a little elbow grease and even water, they go on easier.

We are still working on a removal tool, but in the meantime, a simple flat head screw driver type tool is the easiest way, simply create a little space between the cap and the shoe and turn the flat tool and the cap comes right off.

Every player is different, and every player has different weight distribution. One player might wear down an inside the foot cap sooner, while the other caps hardly wear down. Essentially there is no perfect answer. Our CEO Paxton constantly wears them, on dirt and turf, 5 to 6 games a week, he is able to play outfield, first base and pitch  on a single pair for an average of 6 weeks. But he weighs 140 lbs. A lighter player can probably wear them longer, a heavier player might need to change out 1 or all after a couple weeks.

We used to send 2 complete pairs, our R and D department has changed formula to what is currently the hardest material to make the caps, now in each order you get enought to cover each shoe once, and plenty of spares, if both shoes require 8 caps, we send 24 caps, and a bag to store them in your bat bag.
